No, I agree with you that they are being extremely heavy handed and unfair about this. I would ask them for a copy of their disciplinary procedure. I think that you even if you are disciplined (which I would think should be no more than a verbal warning anyway), you should be able to add your comments to this, and I'd certainly state exactly the events, and who you spoke to. about it, and what was said.

I would google it, and possibly go an see the Citizens Advice Bureau. It may be worth looking into the complaints procedure at work, and see if you can get that warning removed. But ask the CAB about the warning anyway - I think there is a limit to what they can say in a reference.
