That's the idea, keep busy and moving forward. Be able to show your daughter you are there for her.
Freeview is pretty essential, I think the analogue signal has been turned off in most areas. You could probably get some little set top box for a tenner or so.
That sounds like a sensible price for a PS3, get it all set up for your daughter, with some of her favourite games. You can enjoy that together, and you could also play NowTV or Netfliks on it if you get an internet connection (might as well, it costs almost no more than a phone line and your daughter will enjoy it).

Yes I feel I've made some positive steps today. Not sure I can afford to get an Internet connection sorted. My finances are going to be pretty tight. I can get on my iPad for general browsing by using my phone connection but having full wi fi is prob not affordable. Think I might invest in some board games too.

Board games are a good idea.
WiFi has become an essential utility for 11 year old kids. I'm not sure what your daughter has become used to at home, but if you are able to stretch to an internet connection it would be a good idea.
Keep planning ahead.

Hi, yes I know, it's a kind of given isn't that those things are there, maybe in the future I could sort it but for the mo it'll have to wait. It's £18 a month just for the line! I'm sure she will manage without for the time being.
Feeling a bit out of sorts this morn, feel so much better in the eve, feels like I'm never going to get better! Or be normal again.
Going out for a walk soon I think

There may be cheaper ways of having internet access, for example we have a MiFi box to use at our holiday house and on car journeys. It costs about £6/month for 15GB of data (there was a one-off charge of £50 to buy the unit). Your cell phone provider may also allow other devices (tablets and so on) to access the internet via your existing account with no further charge.

Walking is good. I walk or run between 3 and 5 miles every day with Bobby (the dog). It is really good therapy, you will also notice what is going on around you more.

Good morn LeCompte72,

Beware of taking medication and relying on medical attention, you will be better off just becoming stronger yourself (I know that sounds difficult, but focus and it will happen). Also don't turn to drink. Do things that rebuild your confidence so that you look strong in your daughter's eyes (start exercising, lose weight if you need to, get your finances in order, pursue some interests ...).

Please only adjust or stop medication with the support or advice of a medical professional/clinician. People have plenty of opinions about this but there can be many side effects. The above is a comment from a priviledged position.

Your life has been [censored] of late and we feel for you, many of us are recovering too.

With regard to follow ups, timescales and whatnot it will depend on the team allocated, the team previously involved and such. An assessment team suggests a new team and this COULD be anything up to the 18 week RTT (referral to treatment time) within the NHS. I cant imagine that being the case but it isnt too clear (and Im not prying).

Been out for a huge walk today, feel a little better for it but my back and hips say otherwise. Trying to be more focused and positive. Did sort a TV today and will try and sort a PlayStation for when my daughter stays, we both like playing the Lego type games. Really appreciate the support being offered here it really does help knowing I'm not alone. Feeling less anxious at the moment but stomach still feels weird.

This is how I wrote my first blog post, its kind cathartic.

Your stomach will undoubtedly be anxiety. IBS although often described as a dustbin diagnosis (as its often a symptom of something else and when they cant find that plus terrible mental health info at GPs) but when stress and cortisol kick in, your [censored] can be in tatters. Drink plenty of water.

maybe look online for some basic deals - I know finances are tight and you're likely NOT to have Sky but with certain conditions you can get wifi for under £20 (I just pay line rental to sky - but also have abasic TV package). Or see if your phoe provider can increase your data allowance, I think you can get another 10gb with EE for a fiver and O2 go up to 30gb, then as you say tether everything to it - but be wary of watching films etc as it'll destroy your limit.

Thanks everyone for your support. Been out for another mammoth walk today, still struggling on I feel. I'm going to look into the Internet thing, see what comes up, thinking getting more data then tethering might be the way to go, I'm only going to need it to browse the news and places like here really. Not sure what my daughters need will be. With regard to the meds I've no intention of stopping anything so don't worry.
With regard to the assessment team getting in touch with me, who knows maybe it will take 18 weeks ,I'll chase them up I think and find out what's going on.
Once again thanks everyone nice to know I'm not alone

Morning folks, feeling pretty nauseous this morning which makes everything so much harder, got to start packing today as well, feeling like this I really don't fancy it. Having some ginger tea in the hope it settles things. Hope everyone is ok

Have you tried Passiflora drops? You put them in water and sip throughout the day. Boots and most chemists sell them. Works wonders when I'm going through emotional times and my tummy kicks in.

Hi Yoda, thanks I,ll go to boots in a bit to get some. Still feel a bit rubbish but keeping busy with packing etc. Guess I'm going to feel this way till I've told my daughter then moved, hopefully it will ease things
