The article on hugging got me curious so I read the full piece.

I'm definitely a hugger 😎 )
I hug those close to me. People I have invested hours an hours of relationship with. People I love.
Hugging indoors seems more natural than out in the high street.

I like the bit that explains how men hug so :

You begin by standing 2ft apart and lean into each other, so body contact is restricted to no man’s land just above the nipples.

They say to hug when you recognise the other bloke. I also hug as a goodbye.

I like how the article closes off and agree that I do need my male friends more than I ever tell them.

Okay: Who have you hugged??
Iv'e hugged: A policeman; a minister of religon; a minibus driver.

Hmm, I'm not a real physical person with people I don't know, but even then it's not that simple. I'll hug close family - wife, my children, mother, sister etc, but have never hugged my step daughter, who's 22 years old and lives at home, even though I love her to bits - it's just never felt appropriate to do so. I hugged my father a couple of months before he died (about 15 years ago) and told him I loved him - one of the hardest and best things I ever did. I certainly can't see I'd hug strangers or even close friends, male or female.

Hugged anyone lately?
I'd call myself a hugger. Over the past fortnight, I have hugged,
wife (loving hug)
kids (missed you hug)
mum (how are you hug)
dad (how are you hug)
4 work colleagues (haven't seen you in a long while how are you hug)

I'm most definitely a hugger, and I do find it difficult when I come across people that aren't.

I hug everyone, but realise that some are uncomfortable with this !

Every day no matter what time I get home I have a hug with my daughter and we have a minute or so chat about her day ( all I can expect from a teenager) whilst she is a captive audience !

Then the 2 dogs - who are very insistent huggers ( and lickers , yuck!) and sadly husband comes last - not because he is last in the peaking order, but because he is not as insistent as the 2 above.

I am NOT a hugger and feel very uncomfortable with it. Its not that I don't want to because I do but I do feel that my parents showing no emotion during my childhood has left a hole in my own emotional set up. I do not have any childhood memories of hugsor kisses!!!

It now leaves me in many awkward situations either missing a hug or worse still the welcome kiss!!

I hope my children are not the same

Strangely enough my parents were absolutely NON-huggers and i have turned out to be a hugger...
It is amazing how we are all affected differently by our experiences.

My parents are definitely not huggers and I cannot recall them ever hugging me or my sister, although my sister and I do hug each other as adults and of course I hug my immediate family, but it is something I've had to learn to do, as it wasn't something I grew up with or used to.

I'm one big fat hugger! I hug the wife, the kids, my mates (male and female) my rellies ( i have an exstended family of over 40 as my dad was 1 of 7 kids) we all hug and kiss each other hello and goodbye ( my wife hates it lol!)

I thinking hugging is a great thing and expresses so much, I've had times when i've hugged people and they burst into tears coz they have never been hugged or coz they simply needed one.

Have any of you seen those Free Hug videos on Utube where folk go out on the street with a sign saying Free Hugs.. they're great .. 😀

So who wants a cyber hug then 😆

As everyone is discussing hugging - I thought I would remind you all of this news article on the site from a while ago - Hugging for men

And thought you might be interested in this film - people in Italy offering free hugs to the general public.Check it out here

Enjoy
