Not sure if anyone knows this. I normally get my annual assessment letter around April 4th with new payments becoming effective from June 5th. Given the current situation I am not sure if CMS will have staff to carry this out, or perhaps they have the ability for staff to do working from home.
If they do not send the letter, and this prolongs, I guess the advice will be just keep paying what you were paying last year and they will catch up.
Any knowledge anyone?
Thanks
Good question - I would think working from home could raised GDPR issues, having access to such data outside of the office. Mind you, aren't CMS seriously understaffed? surely keeping 2m separation at work would be easy!!
hi,
they just did my annual review on 5th march. you can ring them few days before the review date to check with them. pretty sure they will still do it.
Thanks Bill, I expect 5 March they had full staff, but by now probably all been sent home. So I doubt they will have capacity to carry on as normal.
I never like to call them, never know what that will stir up!
Will wait to see if letter arrives and if not just plan to keep paying what I have this year. Although then begs the question, if they have not assessed me, then my payments will be considered voluntary and when they catch up later they will not take them into account and will have to pay twice!
Perhaps I will call them 🙂
hi,
for review, they advise that if you know your income has gone up or down by 25% then you should ring them and let them know, before your review date. better to avoid any nasty surprises.
