[Solved] What to Expect from a Relationship that went sour

Hello Everyone,

I need your candid advice please.

I and my wife has been seperated for over a year and 4 months when our son was 7 months old..
She accused me of domestic assault after inflicting injury on herself and I was charged to court by the police. The final trial was heard in september 2016 and I was found not guilty. I wanted my familly and moved back to our family house the next day, (a rented appartment with all bills in my name) hoping to resolve our problems ourselves. But left the house the following day again after realising that she might cause me more trouble than good by claiming not to know where my confidential documents are since I was away on a bail condition for 3 months during the trial. So I texted her that I am not returning back if she do not provide the missing documents. she called the police again that her life was in danger and I got arrested again but was released as there was not proof of such. Ever since then I had refused to return to my family after her continous plea

However, months after september 2016, I could not be confident enough to tell my wife that I had a child ( a daughter) with another woman born octerber 2016. I am hoping she must have know about it since she had moved from the house to an unknown location with our son for over 1 yr 4 months while I am still in thesame town where we were before the event.

Now I am thinking of possible divirce, either petitioned from herself or me in a year time and my great concern is about the possibilty of her claiming child support , her maintanance and any self impossed financial settlement that she may initiate .

Please what are the worse things I can expect if we eventually go to court for the divorce

Please I need your help.

Thanks

It depends on whether you can come to an agreement before going to court, Unfortunately, we can't really advise on divorce outcomes as this isn't something we have a wide enough range of experience on here, and there are a lot of possible outcomes, You could try to get a free 30 minute consultation with a family lawyer to get some idea.

However, with regards to child maintenance, you are liable for this, so it depends on whether the mother applies to Child Maintenance Services to get this sorted, but it's worth looking at the child maintenance calculator to get an idea of what would be due,
