Hi There peeps,
I've a deadline date to file a statement by tomorrow for a contested child arrangement order hearing in June..
what are your views on: -
1) filing late (Monday hoperfully)
2) filing on time part finished
which is the better option? its not going to look good either way.
I know, i know...... i've put it off and put if off, the build up of anxiety of having to start writing this has excruciating, and i just couldn't face it.... i'm doing so well in other areas of my life again now but the thought of dealing with this and the confrontation in court that goes with it.... i literally felt like running away several times yesterday and last night..... from this terrible fear.... tried to start so many times before, collected little bits and bats of info....... just couldn't face it..... but now I've started.... well yesterday i did..... i'm going to get a few hours kip and do a bit more.
thanks for reading. CM
This is too late for valid advice now, but if you are filing late on Monday, I would think it's worth putting a letter of apology with it. I don't think there'll be any consequences for being 1 working day late.
Hi there
Sorry I haven't pick up on this in time.
Better filing late, and as a self represented litigant the court usually afford some leeway. As actd says, include a letter of apology . It's just a pity you didn't ask for some help with it a little earlier, if you would like me to look at your finished statement over the weekend I'd be happy to..but don't leave it until Sunday!
All the best
