Hello all, My first post.
So a little about myself. I have 2 biologocal kids and Ive been with my partner for about 1 year who has two kids of her own.
I have never been in a relarionship with someone before that has children and needless to say this has been a huge challenge. I believe that in the year that ive known her children that Ive been a possitive role model to them. We get on great and I treat them like theyre my own.
The biggest issue im having at the moment though is around bed time. Her Children wont sleep unless they are either in bed with her or shes sleeping in thier room.
I find this frustrating as Im either kicked out of our bed (onto the floor) or she dissapears all night and I dont get to spend any time with her. As I work during the day this means Ill often not see her as theyll be asleep by tge time I get home.
I have spoken to her about this but she has said she'll never apologise or push her kids out of bed as theyre only young once (6/2).
Any advice would be appreciated particually if youve been in a similar position.
Thanks
Hi there
This is an awkward and potentially damaging situation to be in, for your relationship. It must be really difficult to be spontaneously intimate and worrying that she won’t entertain any changes.
I think if you let this carry on it is going to cause a rift between you and you may start resenting the children, as young as they are.
Try and talk to your partner again, let her know that intimacy is important to you and it should be to her too... I’m not just talking about the sexual side of things, but just being close as a couple.
Best of luck
