[Solved] Registered carer

How much weight does this hold?

Both parents can offer the same support but 1 is registered on paper for dla claims and the other isn't.

Would the paperwork of this sway anything if the evidence can show the reality is minimal difference.

For example would this sway a need for assigning the home to the person registered over the non registered parent or would it be a case of setting g up fresh paperwork to reassign 'registered carer' status

Generally only one parent can claim DLA or other benefits, but I'm not sure what the point of your question is. Are you asking in respect of child maintenance or because of child contact arrangements?

She seems to think this results in her having more of a decision of what the kids do over the father.

I'm curious in a court is this seen like this even if both parents can offer the same support or is this viewed as a paperwork excersise?

In a children's matter, who the registered carer is for DLA purposes would be irrelevant in terms of deciding what time the children spend with each parent
