I am newly separated and seem to be being push by my ex to make loads of decisions which I am not mentally able to make at the moment.
This question may seem silly, but advice would be welcome.
We need to buy two extra car seats, so I have two and she has two. I pay over £300 maintenance. Is it reasonable to expect the costs of the car seats to come from the maintenance or should I buy one and her buy one?
Hi there,
.
Child maintenance is to cover anything while the children are with your ex, in theory that things that are paid for from child maintenance is shared and you wouldnt have to buy extras, in reality and we do see this quite a lot is that it doesn't happen and you do need to buy additionals for your own use, this can include clothes shoes and in your case child seats.
.
It isn't idea I know but unfortunetely there is nothing to enforce your ex to contribute.
