Ok thanks who did you use as I've been quoted 2000 per hearing just think the prices I've been told are ridiculous
Hi have a look on the direct access portal for barrister . If you’re case is pretty straight forward as far as these things go you can find a relative junior barrister experienced in your field . I did this , found one 5 years Qualfied for not much money . Do not use solicitors to do anything as they’ll charge you to send emails / docs etc you can easily do yourself

It’s a lot of money for sure but one thing that happens is you have pre hearing talks where you and the ex or you and their representative etc try to reach a deal before you go into the hearing . Don’t know about yours but I don’t see mine being willing to talk to me let alone agree a deal . So hopefully having them talk to someone else ie your barrister will allow an agreement to be reached hopefully saving another hearing and more likely to be what you’re after
