Hi All,
I have my NMO hearing next week Thursday. Could anyone give tips on a good plan for the body of an opening statement. Also, I was thinking of writing down a summary in advance of points and just adding to it during trial of points I make. Does this seem like a good plan. I have excellent independent supporting evidence throughout.
You don't make an opening statement in family court. That's for criminal. You will likely be asked what your position is before the hearing commences so it's good to have a few notes to refer to if the judge asks you why your position is as it is, but you don't make an opening statement.
For this hearing, you will need cross examination questions and a closing statement to sum up the evidence and confirm what you are asking the court to do and why.
Best of luck
Thank you Yoda, that information is much appreciated!
I will delete my opening statement...
