Im thinking of leaving the family home my wife has offered me cash some on the grounds of her nan passing which is left in her will, surely a solictor would not sign this of as a will can be changed at any time.

Hello jona,

Unless the law has changed in the last four years a Will can be altered before the first anniversary of the death of the deceased. The original beneficiary and the executors, I believe have to agree and sign to change a Will.

I think it may be called A Deed of Arrangement but please seek legal advice from a solicitor as to what I have written as it is a few years ago since I was last fully aware of all details involved.

Hi There,
.
I agree, you need to take some legal advice on this, it is very open to things changing.
.
Go and get some good legal advice before agreeing to anything.
