[Solved] Not turning up for a hearing??

Hi,

I am back for a bit of advice and information if anybody can help.

So i was meant to have my next hearing yesterday on an enforcement order i filed Feb 2nd 2016.

As i felt the whole thing had got nowhere in the whole year it has been going on and i had made zero progress in getting contact started again and felt it was just a waste of time i stupidly didnt turn up for the hearing . Probably a first as its usually the women that do this. Yes im a prat, yes i have not helped things and yes i do regret it to an extent but i was just fed up with things going nowhere. At that moment i thought if i just backed off for a while, leave the mother and her family well alone for another year then maybe the mother will give me another chance. I have kept my nose clean for 14 months up to now.

My query is, what will court do about my non attendance? I know decisions can be made in my absence, but is this application all but over now and will it be possible to make more in the future without being blocked by the courts? I am aware they will look dimly on this, but any advice on this would be a great help.

Paul

Hi Paul

You really don't do yourself any favours do you mate. I think you should contact the court immmediately and apologise, you could say that you had the dates wrong as it's been going on for so long. At least you will be able to find out whether the court has closed the case, carried on without you, or adjourned it.

I understand your frustration, but the courtroom gives you an opportunity to voice how you feel, even if it seems like you're getting nowhere... it may often seem this is the case but then things can turn around at the 11th hour!

Hi,

Thanks for the response

The court has already been informed of my reasons, i dont want to lie about it.

You say the court lets me voice how i feel. In the 3 years of me going to court they have never ever let me voice anything, they speak over you, cut you out and just get to the points of whatever has been ordered.

Will court let me make anymore applications in 6 months or so or will they now get funny about it?

It shouldn't effect any future applications Paul.

From your post, I took it that you hadn't made contact with them....If you spoke to them, did they tell what course of action the court took when you didn't show up?
