Hi,
After some advice. Split up with partner of over 20yrs. Have two children 10&5.
Worked out on child maintanence calculator and had to pay £252 a month.I agreed to pay £300 a month.
Know my ex wants me to pay half of school uniforms as she thinks uniform is not included. Is this the case as I can't see anything on the website???
Thanks
Craig
Tough one, CMS covers "everyday living costs" - there is a valid argument In my opinion that School Uniform is not an everyday living cost, however you are also already paying 20% over above and every month as it is, so imagine it annoys you she has asked ?
Can you easily afford to contribute half the costs of uniform on top of cms and the overpayment ? - if so , why not just pay it , keep the peace ( I appreciate you have to draw the line somewhere )
I guess ultimately , this is entirely down to you and your decision.
hi,
child maintenance money should cover all living costs of child when they are in mothers care. if you want to pay optional extras that's up to you. if she not happy she may open CMS case, but theres chance she may get less than what your paying now.
@bill337 if she opens a cms case it's £252 a month so she will get less. Just under £50 a month. I have kids 2-3 nights a week overnight aswell.
@harveybdac I'm also in process of buying my own house so funds will be tight when it completes. Also had message this evening can I buy the kids school coats.
Bare in mind I'm paying her £300, gets child benefit for 2 children. Single parent and also works 30hrs a week.
