My son is 19 on 5th October 2016 - he is attending a community college 3 days per week. Is this classed as "full time secondary education".
I would like to know whether I need to continue making maintenance payments please.
Hi There,
.
From my understanding, full time education is classed as 12 or more hours, so yes it would this is the ruling that Child benifit uses and CSA and CMS work along the same rulings, so if child benifit is still being claimed then CSA and CMS still claim too.

Hi All,
I am sure that this is an old question but does anyone have any idea exactly what maintenance pays for, I am currently paying £350 per month to my ex for my children and I also have them on average 3 nights per week so I know I am paying too much however, she is now asking for me to pay for things like football fees and potentially half towards school trips and uniforms.
I am a generous Dad as I also give my kids pocket money and pretty much buy what they need when the come to me, this included clothes, shoes / trainers etc so to now be asked for more money seems unfair, she's also playing the 'if you don't agree to this then it means the kids will miss out' card.
She's quoting that football fees are seen as an additional hobby and are not covered by maintenance?
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.
D
Maintenance (certainly that via CSA or CMS) covers everything, and you aren't required to pay anything else at all unless you chose to do so.
