Hello there. I couldn't come up with any other ideas what to do so i started seeking for advises what to do. Long story short, me and my girlfriend we have a beautiful little boy, and of course my girlfriend is not working at the moment since she has to stay home with the baby. I'm the only one who works. I work as a supervisor at the construction company (they dont pay me as much as you think).
Anyway. I earn £330 a week. £160 goes on rent, which is half of my pay just gone. £80-£100 goes on shopping (food, baby stuff etc etc), £30 goes on my travel each week. And that leaves me with nothing for the rest of the week. I already did cut my expenses to the minimum. Heck, sometimes I have to work 48 hours no sleep so i could just take my girlfriend somewhere nice, or get my son something nice. Christmas is coming up, and i havent saved a single pound.
I was thinking of getting a second job. But considering my job hunting skills, that is not happening.
If you got any suggestions what should i do please let me know. I'm really getting tired of living this way.
Thanks.
Hi There,
.
You have said that you have cut right back which is the best way, something people don't always look into fully is the food shop, we switched some time ago to doing my weekly shop online and having it delivered, when we went to get our shopping, at the till it would often be up near or over £100 sometimes it would reach £150, our weekly shop now online doesn't usually go above £60, we have put this down to only buying what we need rather than seeing things on offer and picking them up while walking around, you do pay to have it delivered but there are slots during the day while your GF would be at home which can be as little as £1. Also planning meals helps so you know what you will be eating each day and then can buy the food you need for those meals.
.
Another thing to look into is if there are any jobs your GF could do whilst she is at home, there are some work from home jobs that she could possible do around looking after the baby, you could even chip in of an evening.
.
Just some thoughts.
