Good evening all,

Just wondering if any dads here ever get drama from there child's mum everytime they go away on a private holiday with there friends.

Every year I go 10 days to Spain because my best friend lives there I currently have my child every other weekend and my own mum always covers the weekend I'm away, well basically my child's mum always calls me selfish and self centred for going on a lads holiday even after explaining to her I only need to get 1 weekend covered to get 2 whole weeks off but she can't see it she just says "Your ditching me"

hi,

i'm sure you wrote about this before? :p

why not just cut the trip to 7 days to avoid any drama. or take 2 trips to spain in the year. i hear trips to spain are pretty cheap.

or why not suggest that you have two consecutive weekends before you go or after you come back so that your child doesn't actually miss any time with you?

If she refuses that, there's not much more you can do.

As Bill says you could cut the duration of the trip down but that's your decision to make. It's quite a small issue in the scheme of things.
