Incorrect CSA calculations

Hi,

CSA are calculating back dated payments incorrectly and base all their calculations on gross earnings.

Calculating on gross earnings is unfair in itself but worse still they don’t calculate your income and expenditure or take into consideration additional child care costs that cost me a fortune.

They consistently breach GDPR by sharing personal and sensitive data with a toxic ex partner, miss informing her and causing unbelievable stress. I have no choice to block her which means we can never move forward amicably we’re stuck in a perpetual cycle of chaos.

CSA are threatening Collect & Pay on my salary due to miss calculated arrears. If this happens it’ll leave no choice but to quit my job because the payments will be completely unsustainable.

I’m normally quite strong willed and resilient person but this relentless barrage of nonsense is starting to take it’s toll on my mental health. When you try to contact CSA “urgently” you can’t get through. The web portal is a nightmare to log into. The whole thing is a massive pain in the [censored].

I pay her every month without fail. Can’t pay what I can’t afford though based on calculations that make absolutely no sense.

Does anyone have any advice?

hi,

yes its very difficult dealing with CMS. now only way to contact them about issues is to phone them. they would need to acknowledge that the arrears are incorrect. if they are not listening then think you should take complaint route.

this group is very useful for paying parents. recommend it: https://www.facebook.com/groups/239699060076601
