Hello. New to this site. In brief I have been paying child maintenance for 2 children that I do not see for the last year. This issue arose last year and has done again on the annual review this year and is about the so called income that CMS have been informed of from HMRC (apparently)
I have tried on multiple occasions to speak to the CMS - apart from the usual pass around, they seem completely incapable of answering this query
It is clear from their recent letter that they believe I have an income which is £5K more than the figure stated by HMRC as my income, I asked CMS to explain this, which they did not, I even sent them a copy of my tax calculation from HMRC and they refused to budge. I have called my accountant who cannot explain the figure that CMS are using,Ii have even called HMRC who also do not understand where the CMS have got their figure from!!!!!!!!!!
[censored] I cannot get anyone to help me......meantime my child maintenance payments have gone up whilst my income has not
Any advice on this would be welcome

Hi There,
.
You are able to open an appeal through CMS where they will have to look into things further, If you can't get anywhere from that then you could speak with your local MP and see if they are able to get some answers.
