Hi all, I work as a lorry driver and as part of my salary I am paid night out money to cover any expenses incurred whilst working away from home. This is none taxable and is only paid if I stay out. On top of this I get a tax free daily meal allownce for every shift I work.
I have a private arrangement with my ex and have always paid above the recommended amount. I want to reduce the amount I pay.
When working out the new payments do I have to count the allowencies I receive as part of my gross income? These are a regular payment on my payslips
Good morning this is just my 2 cents,
I would give CMS a call find out what the difference to what your paying now to what it could be is if your talking a fiver a week I wouldn't bother reducing payment.
From experience this makes an okay relationship with your ex to a bad once in most cases and may prompt her to make a CMS claim then your salary will be reviewed every year along with a cold ex it's not worth it.
Get to the child age of 16 or 18 then have a party lol
I agree with HRabbit - if they aren't taxable, then I don't think they are assessed for maintenance. However, I also agree with danbruno, that reducing the amount you pay, unless you can agree it with your ex, will sour the relationship and she may make contact a lot more difficult, so you have to weigh up whether the reduction in maintenance is worth it.
