hey all,
so, i am a father recently separated from the mother who is now blocking me from seeing my daughter and is forcing me to go to court to get access.
im struggling to be honest, its a hard gig trying to do the right thing and be professional with everything incase she tries to use anything against me in court, kinda here to see how some of you guys have handled all of this stuff and any tips, advice etc.
ah what a time to be alive 😛
I am sorry to hear this, and you will find lots of great advice on here.
Is there any specific reason why she is stopping contact? I know it is a difficult time right now, but the best thing to do is stay clam and child focused. Do not contact your ex in anyway in case she claims harassment.
We don't know you current situation, but just be prepared for this to drag out for a little while. Fill out the C100 form, you may need to attempt mediation first, she may refuse, but they generally prefer you to attempt this first.
hi,
as ferfer mentioned, start to get ready for legal route. the longer your blocked from seeing your child, the more anguish and hardship for you. see if she will allow you to see child for atleast a couple of hours. i started seeing kids every saturday, but not allowed to keep them overnight. thats when it went to court. if she is of the type that will not even answer your calls or messages, do not hang around and get legal ball rolling.
You said the separation was recent - how long are we talking?
I wouldn’t recommend rushing down the legal route unless you really have to as both sides can end up getting entrenched.
Try another route 1st if you can - mediation, etc. It is much better for all if you can find a compromised position.
