Hey everybody, what's up? My name is Chris and I am a 19 year old guy currently going to uni and working in retail. Last week my gf took a test after being late a few days and it came back positive. So yeah I guess it looks like I am going to be a dad! Haha man it feels weird writing it, I haven't even told anyone yet... And to be honest its still hard to believe. It was definitely unexpected, when it would have happened it was only a couple days after her period stopped not even a full week. So yeah I have been going through a ton of emotions, first I was kinda mad at myself for being careless, then got kind of scared and nervous, now I am excited and yeah a little proud too 😀 although I still don't wanna tell my parents hehe. So that's a little about me, I just came across this board, looking for a place to get info and stuff. I want to be an awesome dad and boyfriend. Any advice that any has is cool. I definitely wanted to have kids someday I just didnt think it would be this soon! I am just a little clueless, there aren't really any little kids in my close family now, I am an only child, and none of my friends have or are having kids yet.

GTTS
Hey thanks for the welcome hope to meet lots of people here. Yeah the baby is not due until June 15. Its weird I mean it kinda doesn't really even feel real yet. I kinda feel bad for asking this question, and I never had like any reason to be suspicious or anything but she had a doctors appointment and she is due June 15th because they are going by her last period which started on Sept 8 and according to the doctor the baby would have been conceived on the 22nd. She is pretty regular, sometimes early.or late a day or two at the most, but the thing is, conception would have had to happen on the 16th and that was only like 4 days after her period ended... So yeah do you think I have anything to be worried about? I feel kin of guilty asking haha bit the math seems a little strange... And I was surprised when we went to the doctors and said she was already 5 weeks pregnant I was like dangibdidnt know they counted time between her period and when the baby was made. I need all the time I can get haha.
Hi Chris... Congratulations and welcome to the Forum!
Most couples wait until the 12 week scan before making an announcement to family and friends, plus it gives you both a chance to get used to the idea... it takes some getting used to, at least the first time!
The first three months are usually quite easy, there may be some morning sickness, but the hormones don't usually kick in until the second trimester, this is when your partner may experience mood swings! This is the time when it's important not to react to her moodiness, she's got a lot on her plate! Just be kind and be there for her.
All the best
Yes, always strange that they count pregnancy from about 2 weeks before conception. 🙂
Congratulations ! It's a great feeling, and slowly it will start to sink in more and more. Personally I think it's the best think that could ever happen 🙂
It will get even more real the first time you see your baby in the baby scan monitor, that's bound to put a smile on your face 🙂
wish you well and let us know if we can help in anyway.
congratulations and welcome to the forum!
