Hello All,how do i go about getting visitation for my son who is 6 years old? I have not got any contact details for my ex-girlfriend and would not know where to start with trying to trace her, the CSA and the now CMS have both said they are not able to help with regards to this.I am also not on the Birth certificate as the farther(no surprise there!) Any help would be appreciated, Thank You Robert
Hi there
The first thing you should do is to make an application to the family court for a seek and find order with form C4.
Don't worry about not being on the birth certificate, that can be dealt with during the court process.
Many dads here have self represented, solicitors can cost thousands, but the application for the seeek and find order will be a couple of hundred, should you decide to go ahead with it. Any mediation or court action would have to take place at her location, so this might entail some travelling on your part.
There's lots of information in the stickys at the top of the legal eagle section, which you may find helpful and any questions you only have to ask.
All the best
hi, thanks for your reply, cheers rob
