After 2 allegations both NFA I had first contact centre hour today.
My daughter seemed totally unphased by not seeing me for 4 months and behaved like she had only seen me a week ago.
She didn't want to leave at the end which filled my heart 🙂 I even gave the supervisor a quick "smug" look. Was a good time playing with Lego.
I know fathers don't like contact centres but it's a good way to build a relationship up Without the EX having any influence at all. The session time is solely yours and your children's
Does anyone know how contact centres are untilised long term, are they seen as a stepping stone to progress Or are they in places for years, I'd like to think courts see them as progression to proper contact.
I was previously given a court order for supervised contact in a contact centre for 6 months, once a fortnight. Then had to go back to court to see were we went from there
They can be utilised long term but generally, courts use it as a stepping stone to establishing unsupervised contact.
If your contact is supervised, the support worker will be preparing written reports on your sessions and these are taken account of by the courts, when deciding how and when to move contact forward.
All the best
Supervised contact can be used short or longer term, depending on the safeguarding concerns around unsupervised.
As a bog standard progression, they are usually used for a few months before progressing to supported contact and then out in to the community. All cases are different, but I always think supervised contact is an excellent way to show the court how things are going by the provision of reports without interference from the mother.
