ok guys this month i go to the final hearing, has anybody got any advice on this, what will happen? im self repping , all contacy between myself and baby, who is 2 years old has gone positive and im thrilld to see her, even tho contact center, supervised contact, and supported contacts all without fault, and ex has been is being so negative towards any and all contact she will be with her solicitor,, being free,, ? dv,, blah blah,, any help guys and thankyou happy new year, to all dads fighting for there children, in family court,
I think the standard advice of staying calm in court, be respectful of the court, and stay child-focussed should just about cover it. Make sure you are well prepared in advance (which will help you stay calm). Above all, don't let your ex bait you. Can't think of anything else, and good luck.
thanku actd quote ? be prepared in advance? i guess you mean ,, mentaly,, ? i think i am,, prepared there ,as good as i can be that is, thanks for your helpfull advice
Best of luck. Do let us know how it goes.
I found this website which has some very good advice on self representation. There are some good mock videos what it is like to be in the court. Have a look.

Not just mentally - have all of your notes organised, use post-it note markers for anything you think you may need to refer to quickly so you can find it at a moments notice. Doing this sort of preparation will also help you mentally in court.
As contact so far has gone really well, I'm pretty sure that the court will want to progress contact further, afterall she probably didn't want you to have contact centre contact, but the court ordered it regardless. Rise above what your ex is doing and saying and concentrate on your own case.
Happy New Year to you too.
If you haven't got a schedule of increasing contact prepared, it might be a good idea to do one, but be prepared to be flexible and allow for some room to compromise, sometimes asking for a little more than you would be ok with is a good idea.
It's likely her solicitor will want to talk to you about reaching some agreement, before going into court, if you're not happy with what they are proposing, politely say that you don't agree, offer a counter proposal but don't get stressed if you can't reach agreement and don't feel you have to agree to their terms, stay polite but say that you would like to bring the meeting to a close and put your case to the court for their decision.
Best of luck
thankyou all,
