Hi km
I've read through your link and wish you all the best with the fundraising and your court application.
Sometimes a solicitor is necessary but a lot of Dads on here self rep quite successfully. If you struggle with your crowd funding you could also consider using a McKenzie Friend? They cost a fraction of a solicitor and it's not that hard to find a decent one. They're not regulated and do vary in qualification and price, my partner found his through recommendations on here, he's brilliant and is also has a law degree.... It's just another option to consider if you don't want to be a LIP.
Good luck π
