Hello!

I could do with some advice. My ex is an intelligent and manipulative compulsive liar. I got over her a long time ago, and pay maintenance weekly £70 PW ...even when I dont earn, im self employed she always gets the money. i always offered to go halves on his shoes and coats, expensive things but she cut me out and started buying them herself.

After lying and covering this guy up for long enough shes told me shes buying a house with him. Hes will get drained but thats up to him. My question is do I still pay child maintenance if she has a full time partner with house shared? mortgaged / both work her 3 days a week, I pay direct debit weekly. i live in Edinburgh Scotland for law purpose

Hi there

The requirement to pay child maintenance is worked out on your income alone, her income, or that of her partner will have no bearing on the amount you should pay I'm afraid. This is how it works here in England but I'm fairly sure that the same rules apply in Scotland.
