I remember last year we didn't see eye to eye and always arguing I had issues with seeing the kids on few occasions and it took so much energy out of me lack of sleep,work quality etc
Once we were sorted and everything was friendly again I had such a big spring in my step
It's never easy managing relationships with ex partners and children.
As you say, sometimes it's easier to just deal with it. It's probably difficult for her to understand your point of view anyway as she's biological mum to both of them and won't feel differently towards them.
