Received a letter today saying I owe nearly £7000 in arrears for unpaid maintenance.
On calling the CSA they say they have no record of me paying anything between 1993-2005 !
I know I paid throughout those years, have some receipts from 1995 but prior to that I'll probably have to track bank statements from then. Thereafter it was DEO.
How can they do this?
In 2006 it was they closed the case and now its been reopened. Last DEO payment was December 2006.
A few years ago they did this and I got a goodwill cheque for £50 for the stress they caused for their mistake (they have no record of this).
What do I do? I suggested to them they get in touch with my ex to confirm that I paid her throughout those years but the fact is the Secretary of State is demanding this money from me saying that because I didn't pay her they paid her instead.
What a mess and 10 years on for this to rear its ugly head again is very distressing. I can't believe this......
HELP please !!! :boohoo:
Make sure you have copies of everything the CSA are saying and get in touch with your local CAB or MP, they will be able to help you take this forward.
