hi everyone. I'm hoping someone can can help me. my eldest daughter is attending college in september for a one year course, which ends in july next year. when she finishes this course she is hoping to join the navy, I've been told that when child benefit stops being paid to her mother, i then stop paying csa money. can any one clarify this

Yes, that is correct, when child benefit ceases, then you have no liability for child maintenance - it would normally end in the September after her course ends. However, child benefit can be extended for up to 20 weeks if the child is applying for the armed forces, so your maintenance may continue for this period.

hi, and thank you for your reply. that is pretty much the same answer I've had before, but none the less very grateful for your message.
