[Solved] Court drug testing

My ex is insisting that i take a drug test. She has already informed my work as i work for the council that she beleives i am taking drugs when we split which was 6 months ago and i was drug tested on the spot and it was negitive. My solisitor has gotten a letter from my work that says ive had a negitive test. Do you think the court will take this test or will i need to do another for the court? Do you know what type of test the court do? Any help would be great

Hi,

The court can ask for a hair strand drug test, when my ex made the same accusations I was honest with the court that I had smoked weed in the past and would be more than happy to take a test, but on the proviso that if it came back negative the costs would be shared, she then refused.

If you have the letter from work I would take that to court and say you are happy to take a hair test but if negative the costs should solely be for her to bare, as it's already been proved once.

I agree with Jmax... you passed an on the spot test, which I'm assuming was a urine test, so the result only went back a week or so. If the court wanted to see what your drug use was for the last 3-6 months a hair follicle test would do that.

It is expensive, the average cost coming in at over £300 and if she is making the allegations, she should assume the cost if its negative.
