[Solved] court acknoledgment form C7, Q 8 mean

Hello, I was wondering if you can help.

I have been issued with a C100 form and have to acknowledge the receipt of this via the C7 form. I am happy with all the questions on how to answer but am unsure of question 8.

Question 8 askes; Do you intend to apply to the court for an order. yes / no.

What does this question mean and what implications. I think this to be about finances but am unsure.

Would saying yes cost me money to make a secondary application. Is this necessary as all this case is to change to an existing order.

Is this the question to say yes if I wish to apply for my costs back from my ex wife.

I am representing myself as I believe my case is very strong to make this change happen.

Many thanks Gary

Hi there

I'm a little confused, could you confirm if you're the applicant or the respondent? Who issued the C100 to you? You would only receive a C7 acknowledgement if you're the respondent, in which case you wouldn't be required to fill out a C100 form. The C7 form is to acknowledge that you have received the papers.

The C100 form has nothing to do with finances, it's is an application form for a Child Arrangements Order to have contact with children and has absolutely nothing to do with asking for costs. It's extremely rare for costs to be awarded to either side in child contact arrangements cases.

Agree with Mojo - I'm a bit confused by your post too 🙂

Question 8 on the C7 form is just asking if you intend to apply for an order in addition to the one the other side has already applied for.

If you are opposing the C100 application, you tick box 5 to say yes and you can let the court know why at your first hearing

A C100 only deals with contact matters and specific issues, nothing to do with finances

As mojo says - costs are very rarely awarded in contact cases

Best of luck
