[Solved] Coronavirus following Boris Johnson announcement

Hi All,

I just wanted to share some information I have come across since Boris Johnson made his speech last night.

Michael Gove will be speaking more in depth about separated families on BBC breakfast this morning at 7:30 (along with some other uncertainties) and (I think) Cafcass will be releasing some more guidance.

However having looking at the government guidelines, I believe contact should still take place. Here is the current guidance:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/full-guidance-on-staying-at-home-and-away-from-others

Which states:

1. STAYING AT HOME

You should only leave the house for one of four reasons.

● Shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible.

● One form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household.

● Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.*

● Travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home.

*Where applicable, this includes moving children under 18 between their parents’ homes.

I hope that helps you, and it may be worth sharing with the ex if they now become difficult.

It doesn't help Boris said not to see family members that live in another household but I think he means socialising with your parents, then your siblings, then your aunt, cousin's etc as this would continue to help spread the virus.

Good luck!

just trying to reason with ex. if virus issue lasts for several weeks and months, how can it be fair on the kids if they don't see their dad in all of that time. she even makes things like phone contact difficult, if not impossible.
