[Solved] CoronaVirus - Family Court Hearings

Just a heads up fellow Dads, my final hearing scheduled for next week has been adjourned. Just received a call from my barrister who informed me that a direction had been issued by Andrew McFarlane (President of the Family Division) and that the courts are taking a very specific approach as to which hearings will take place whilst the courts are able to continue to stay open and operate.

The above link relates to financial remedy hearings; I assume the criteria applied to child arrangements will be slightly different.

I guess the view of the courts will be if contact is currently happening in line with the current order then it will not be viewed as a critical hearing.

I have received further communication on this. Apparently, all First and Directions Hearings to continue in the interim, all final contested hearings are adjourned until a later date.

But things can change on a daily basis.

That has to change - when I've been to family courts, they are always packed in the waiting areas.

I should have been clear - FDA ad DRA to continue remotely (i.e. video conferences etc...). As of today, I would be surprised if any hearing takes place at the courts in person.
