Just a heads up fellow Dads, my final hearing scheduled for next week has been adjourned. Just received a call from my barrister who informed me that a direction had been issued by Andrew McFarlane (President of the Family Division) and that the courts are taking a very specific approach as to which hearings will take place whilst the courts are able to continue to stay open and operate.
hi,
thanks for update. my next hearing is end of april. DRA. bet it will get adjourned.
they want to do remote/skype meetings and want all documents submitted electronically
The above link relates to financial remedy hearings; I assume the criteria applied to child arrangements will be slightly different.
I guess the view of the courts will be if contact is currently happening in line with the current order then it will not be viewed as a critical hearing.
i emailed my local family court to ask what will happen with my hearing next month.
central family court in Holborn, London told me their still operating as usual, until further notice.
That has to change - when I've been to family courts, they are always packed in the waiting areas.
I should have been clear - FDA ad DRA to continue remotely (i.e. video conferences etc...). As of today, I would be surprised if any hearing takes place at the courts in person.
Ah, thank you for clarifying π
