Can i have some fresh input on this matter please.
My son is 17 this October and wants to spend extra time with me but his mother has told him that the contact order lasts until he is 18 when i know for a fact its 16 . The contact order itself was applied for by myself in 2009 which i won despite not having a solicitor.
My ex wife is vindictive and legally wants putting in her place .
Fresh ears please

Hi there

Your son is within his rights to spend as much time with you as he wants now as he is over the age of 16. He could leave home and move in with you and there's nothing the mother could do about it.

Hi,

I tend to agree with NJ, A contact order is put in place to aid an healthy relationship between both mother and father whist the child/children are at an age where they aren't mature enough to make the decision for them selves.

Yep, a contact order is until age 16 - which is quite interesting for me as my daughter turns 16 tomorrow.

Thank you , my son seems to have been brainwashed into thinking it was 18 .
I know its 16 but his mother doesn't want to let go as this means she cannot control him any more . Ive seen it in black and white from many sources so 16 it is .
Ill keep you updated .
🙂
