Hi all,
My eldest turns 19 this September and is leaving college to do Open University. As this isn't full time, tutor led education, I believe I don't have to pay maintenance for her when she leaves college. Is this correct??
Regards, Rob
I'd check with CMS, but I presume it's a degree of some sort he's doing, which is classed as advanced education, so that would mean you wouldn't be liable for maintenance.
Hi there
Are your maintenance payments a private matter decided between the two of you, or is it through the CSA/CMS?
If it's an informal arrangement, then it would be up to you both to discuss and negotiate any changes.
If it's through the CSA/CMS then if your ex is still claiming child benefit, it's likely they will insist that you continue to make payments.
