Hi
I would contact CAFCASS first to find out why the case has been closed.
If you complain, you will end up in another bureaucratic process. If the provider in Coventry need to liaise with CAFCASS and your case is closed then this could lead to further delays.
I believe CAFCASS are regulated by ofsted and to complain, you complain to CAFCASS first and then if unhappy with their outcome you complain to the parliamentary ombudsman via your MP. (I think this is the process, I'm sure others may confirm)..
There just busy Cafcass. All they're trying to do is complete other cases. So any stupid excuse, they will close the case. So I made inquiries of either doing Respect accredited course which had no availability in London or there was a DAPP course available in Coventry. I just asked the Cafcass officer her opinion. I think she just fobbed me off first she said "Ask the courts" she know its her recommendation. Anyway I've got her mobile now and have written to the courts. I have asked her why have you closed the case when the courts have given me until 22nd May 2022. I'll wait for her response. If she doesn't reply I'm sure I have no other option but to complain.
Hi i just found this article on Google
I am having the same problem basically the CAFCASS offered me DDVP and they keepp changing the social worker every time i contact them.
I don't know what to do to see my daughter again.
@jocimardedeus Hi, you could contact their office and perhaps make a complaint. can let them know you want to start that course ASAP.
@bill337 i did several times and nothing has done.
hi,
there is complaints procedure with Cafcass here. https://www.cafcass.gov.uk/contact-us/feedback-complaints-adults/
or you could take the next level, complain to Parliamentary ombudsman, and ask your MP to get involved: https://ombudsman.org.uk/about-us/how-our-casework-makes-difference/case-summaries/291
@nickpuna hi mate, wondering how this ended up? As I’m in the same situation right now myself
Hi guys
Ok so after two years of being kicked around in the courts. I finally had some good news, Cafcass made recommended I do the DAPP course. Only thing is I have to pay for it, i made enquiries about the course they are fully booked. This Cafcass system is a total farce. When I contact the course providers they are saying "you can only attend through Cafcass and that you should not be paying for it" I contacted Cafcass and they don't even get back to me. Any thoughts Lads?
Hi guys,
I'm having the same issue. Haven't seen my 2 year old boy in 15 months. CAFCASS have said I have to do the DAPP but cant endorse one and I have researched and contacted numerous providers including the ones on the CAFCASS website to no avail due to being in not dealing with cases through the court. Anyone have any advice or info on this would be appreciated? Also, I would like to do it in Greater Manchester or nearby areas.
- I was told to do the RESPECT accredited course, they cost quite a bit, ask Cafcass if RESPECT course is acceptable mate, I didn't have the money, but I have moved near my son, and will pursuing my ex on two fronts, one financial side of family home and reapply to the courts to see my son. He's told people "I want to see my dad" where there's a will there's a way. Don't give in mate
