[Solved] Buying a new TV

Hi folks

I'm thinking of buying a new widescreen TV. I haven't bought one for over 20 years and would like advice on what features both essential and 'nice to have' features I should look for when selecting my TV.

Also, do you suggest I should select the TV model from the popular makes such as Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic etc, or should I widen my choice?

Thanks

I bought a new TV 6 years ago after lugging a huge thing to the dump I had for years and years. I was amazed at how easy it is these days. You just walk in the shop and carry it out in one hand and it's no heavier than a full shopping bag. Put it together at home and run auto tune and it's up and running. the one I got was an LG and I've been very pleased with it.

LG and Samsung are pretty much top of the game in respect to screen technology and most other manufactuers actuallybuy screens from them for their tvs

what sort of budget and size are you looking at?

Hi There,
.
First bit of advice is get your car door fixed first so that you kno how much you have left to spend on a TV πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†
.
Then buy something that is a good price and the size and features you want, you would be silly not to buy a smart TV these days that will have internet access for netflix, youtube ect, and shop around lots of deals will be about coming up to Christmas.

Geek has been a member for some time, he doesn't use the forum for the same as most, but the forum isn't here just for issues we like normal chat too, it's just that most of our members aren't in a possition for having general chat.
.
I know some of his posts seem as though they are a wind up, but i'm always happy to answer them.
