[Solved] Back Dated CSA Payment

Good Morning,
I wonder if anyone can help me ?

My partner of 11 years received a letter in 2012 from the CSA to say he owed money .
I was pregnant at the time and it seems his X wife who had been his x for 18 years contacted the CSA to say my partner owed her money?

None of this true as my partner was in and out of work mostly out and the wife refused access to the children. We are paying for his son who is 24 years old. .

We contacted our MP in 2012 as the £500 per month payments were going to financially ruin us. we pay £290 and to date have paid over £16,000 to the CSA .

My question is that I don't understand how they worked this out and what proof they have that my partner never gave maintenace?
Our daughter is almost 5 now so we have been paying this back for almost five years the payments started December 2012.

We don't have a breakdown of how this was worked out , although I am aware we can call them and ask them for this to be sent . My husbands son was in Education until he was 19 but not anymore.

Is there some one I can contact or this is right.

I will be grateful for any advice and help

Many thanks

Claire

Hi there

Are the payments in relation to the alleged arrears? Child maintenance is only payable until a child reaches 20 yrs old, as his son is 24, actual payment should have stopped 4 yrs ago.

I would definitely ask for a breakdown of the arrears in writing, and a date when the arrears are fully paid off. Perhaps it might also be a good idea to pay a return visit to your MP to ask for further help.

All the best
