[Solved] Amicable seperation advice needed

Hi,

My partner and I have decided to seperate. We have 3 kids and a mortgage and as a self employed sole trader I'm the sole
provider. I intend to carry on paying the mortgage and upkeep etc. but with finances normally quite tight I now have the extra burden
of finding alternative accomodation for myself. Will I or my partner be eligible for any financial help thatcan go towards this extra cost?

Any advice appreciated.

T

Hi

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of anything, other than both your and your wife will be living in separate houses, so you will both be eligible for the 25% relief on coucil tax. It might be worth having a word with the council, and possibly the mortgage company to see if you can extend the mortgage term.

Also, it might be worth looking at this http://dadinfo.splittingup-putkidsfirst.org.uk/home
