Up till 4 years ago when my wife and I divorced, she worked at weekends, sometimes overnight, and I looked after the girls, this continued after the divorce for about a year. I then got a job 126 miles away from the family home and relocated, I still saw the girls every 2 weeks, having them to stay for the weekend, even though it meant 2 250 mile round trips Due to redundancies I moved back to my old job and saw the girls initially every two weeks, doing round trips, although that's turned into when possible due to their commitments now they are older, and my shift patterns. My question is this, is the onus on the father to do all the toing and froing, picking up and dropping off, or is it supposed to my both parties contributing.

Hi There,
.
Ideally it should be shared but unfortunately it is often the case that the non resident parent will do all the travel. The only way that would change would be through a court order but even then normally the resident parent would have to agree as it's very difficult to enforce that they travel.
.
Sorry I know this isn't much help.
