First time on this: My partner became fridgid as soon as our sone was born, she claimed is was hermones , menopause whatever after trying to get both of us into councellng she refused to go saying it was a load of rubbish. Now after several years, and seeing our son through primary, to cheat the system of getting him into the 'Right School' she rented a flat telling me it was only to do this, and would return to the marital home once successfull. I totally disagreed with her choices and cheating on the system. she has now informed me she is not returning, and wants her share of the equity in the property.
I bought the house 30 years ago have paid all the mortgauge, service bills and insurances ect. Everything! she contributed a little on holidays and some smaller funishings. she has now got a high powered position in a company I am the carer at home and continue paying all the bills from savings(running out) she is now trying to force me to sell the property. With my some just starting Secondary school and being moved back and forth between home and mothers rented flat I see the emotional damage and the change in his charactor. I want to keep the house as its the only stable home he has known and need to keep it at least untill he reaches an age of understanding and can understand the situation emotionally between his mum and dad. This would mean another 6 - 7 years untill the end of his education, then I would be happy to split the equity with her but it seems she cant wait. Pouring huge amounts down the drain in rent in 2 bed flat in London(£1700 per month) yet she works in Milton Keynes, She wants the lifestyle. I also feel that she does not really care for our son and is using him for her own ends pays, little attention to his security and feeds him on takaways, cant be bothered to cook, Where do I start, I took legal advice and was basically told dont do anything, delay but that does not sort out the problem and I see the problems manefesting in my son his and my mental health are beginnng to suffer. Where do I start?:(

hi,

i have some understanding of your situation. my ex and her family are council flat bums. so it was her turn to scam one and run off lol. said farewell to her. been through court to get child arrangements sorted.

whats your situation with your child, seeing him/her regularly? in this type of situation, it will not be long before the child is used as a weapon. she may say sort out divorce/house sale first, if you want to see your child. so you should consider getting child arrangement in place first, followed by child maintenance through CMS. there are other dads on here who have been in this situation regarding house sale. hope they can advise you better.
