Hi folks
Anyone got any good links/advice for doing a DIY divorce in Scotland?
Because I have a child (in this marriage at least) under 16, it won't qualify as a "simple" or "quickie" divorce under Scottish law, but I'm interested to hear if its possible/feasible to do it myself.
We have been separated for 5 years and there have been regular child maintenance payments since we separated, which will obviously continue.
Nothing else to be considered in terms of"assets" but I'dlike opinions or experiences of DIY'ing in Scotland!
Thanks guys
Chris
I don't know the Scottish law, but under English law, you'd be able to get a divorce on 2 years separation. How easy it is to do it yourself would depend on whether your ex agrees to it, or whether she contests it, but here, it's a form filling exercise (well, and cheque writing for the court fee). If you use the CMS for child maintenance, I would also expect that would take that complication away from the court.
