Shift workers and Child Arrangment Orders #HELP# 1 week 5 days ago #80933

Hoping for some advice from other parents who work shifts, not Mon – Fri 9-5 and obtaining an Child Arrangement Order.

I am in the process of taking ex-partner to court for child contact where contact has been refused. I may have to get an ‘order’. How will I go about this working most weekends’ evenings with no the same day or evening off each week?

Is the court going to expect me to list dates for the while year? Or say a minimum of x days per week / month or say down to each party to agree?

Thank you

The court orders that EXWIFE will make CHILD available to spend time with FATHER as follows:

a. For a minimum of XX overnight stays during the year with times and dates to be agreed by parents taking into account FATHER's shift pattern. FATHER to inform EXWIFE of shift pattern 6months/12months in advance. Both parents accept there may be changes to the shift pattern - although FATHER will aim to keep such changes to a minimum.

b. [Other points you want the order to cover, such as mid-week, holidays, half-terms, etc]

Conditions of the Order
It is a condition of this order that [XXXX any particular conditions that may relate to any specific issues in your situation]

For something like the above, you have to know your shift pattern in advance and send it to your Ex.

Another way if possible do your own parents live close to you i know In a child arrangement order you can have who else can be present at pick ups and drop offs I.e grandparents or have the order so your child stays at grandparents residency fri to sun but depends how close they are to make that happen that way you can just work with them and if you can drop in before or after work and if your off great give em a rest

If it's only visitation this could be more tricky with shifts you could give 3 weeks of rota i guess but depending on age it would easier if you had a close relative that can keep and eye if your working and be able to do overnights and be able to drive them back ideally a grandparent is king

Court order can be detailed when you do shifts I.e father must provide 3 week's Rota mother must work with the father on Rota days off or when you finish earlier for possibility of overnight stay ,other relatives at pick ups drop off ,residency another possibility If you live alone Is a live in nanny you can hire to help with you shifts rent free

Some orders will just say father pick ups son 4pm Friday and brings back and sun 6pm in the perfect scenario of mon to Fri but your like me so must be creative an
