Here's an article from the New York Times I stumbled upon several months ago. It got me thinking, not only from the point of view of two strangers meeting and asking these questions experimentally, they might be useful for people experiencing a lack of closeness in their relationship.
It's really fascinating and worth taking a few minutes to read.
Peace out folks x

Set I
1. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
Including anyone dead, then if would be my father. If restricted to living, then I think David Attenborough
2. Would you like to be famous?
Absolutely not.
3. Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say? Why?
Rarely, or I might have an idea, but I prefer a conversation than a speech, so I'll see how it goes.
4. What would constitute a “perfect” day for you?
Most days are pretty perfect these days.
5. When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?
To myself, rarely - to anyone else, probably not for 20 years.
6. If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you want?
That depends. If there was the chance I might get dementia, then I'd keep the mind. If I was going to keep most of my marbles, then the body - I like the idea of growing old disgracefully 🙂
7. Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?
In response to GTTS, when I realised that could be the way I'd die (after I'd had an accident that was not my fault), I gave up on the motorbike, and I've recently given up flying, so I suspect I will die of old age or an illness.
8. Name three things you and your partner appear to have in common.
Humour, love of nature and our dogs
9. For what in your life do you feel most grateful?
That I still have a good one.
10. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?
Nothing at all - I had plenty of time with my parents and I think I turned out pretty well.
11. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?
More self discipline, so I could lose some weight.
Set I
1. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest? My Grandad (if you're allowed to include the deceased).
2. Would you like to be famous? In what way? Absolutely not.
3. Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say? Why? Only occasionally for work as I'm still finding my feet.
4. What would constitute a “perfect” day for you? Sunny day in the Yorkshire Dales with my children.
5. When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else? To myself, this morning. To someone else, yesterday in the car mortifying my teenage son.
6. If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you want? The mind!
7. Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die? Hopefully my recurring dreams of nuclear war are not a real hunch.
8. Name three things you and your partner appear to have in common. Music, humour, being outside.
9. For what in your life do you feel most grateful? My kids as I was told I couldn't have any.
10. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be? To have known my Dad, my Mum did a pretty okay job otherwise.
11. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be? Ability - invisibility. Quality - to let others in or help.
