[Solved] Physically assaulted by ex wife

I’m new to these kind of communications but hopefully there is a male that has been through this. Six years ago I was physically assaulted by my now ex-wife in front of my son. Up until 8 weeks ago I still lived in the family house which I did not for myself but for my kids even though when they were not around I had verbal abuse on a daily basis. What made this worse was that I have Multiple Sclerosis so a lot of the time due to my illness was not able to leave the house. Finally 8 weeks ago with the consent of my children I moved out.
Now the history is out of the way now the present. I have met somebody new and have been on 2 dates. We both are getting on well but in the back of my mind all the time I am having trust issues. I do not fall for somebody quickly but am a good judge of character I not only need but want this person in my life but am scared because of past experiences. I have an inkling that she feels there is something in my past I am not telling her. What I am trying to get across is I want to tell her but not sure how.
Sorry for the long message but felt if I told the whole story maybe I would get the right.
Many Thanks for reading.

Hi there

It’s absolutely understandable that you are anxious because of past experience...personally, I don’t think that two dates is enough time to make an informed decision and I would take your time.

Talking to new people in our lives shouldn’t be forced, I’m sure if it’s right, it will happen when the time is right. For now I would try and relax and enjoy getting to know each other and try not to worry too much about it.

All the best

I agree, I think you are putting to greater expectation on yourself in just 2 dates. There is no rush, just take time to get to know each other and enjoy yourself, and the trust will come in time.
