Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.
Reporting a concern
It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.
The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

Hi everyone,
Anyone used those free dating websites?
Can I ask which they were and how well they worked for you?
Thanks 🙂
I havent found a truly free one yet.
You can join for free but to read or send mails usually costs.
You could try match.com - Dont say you are seperated as the registration will bomb out right at the end, say your single.
Regards,
Dave
Hi There,
Have a look at plenty of fish
It is free, you have to weed out the amount of people on there but I met my now wife through the site.
GTTS
Match defo a no go..... I met my nutter of an ex on there!!! lol
P.O.F is full of very very odd people. but i suppose that is partly because it is free!!!
Your right there are some very odd people on there.
But some really nice ones too, you just have to keep trying and don't take it too seriously, the advantage is that it is free so your not actually wasting money while talking to these odd people.
GTTS
Same with any site - I met my ex-girlfriend on one (can't remember which) and we had some good times, but she also met a couple of b*stards, and I think I avoided a couple of loonies, so any site is going to have it's fair share of good and bad - ultimately, it's down to you to make the final decision of yay or nay.
I met my now wife on nomorefrogs - it was fairly useless in a few respects at the time (including matching me with someone from venezuela when I was looking from someone somewhat more local), but it certainly got it right once for me 🙂
I in NOOOO rush right now BUT would love to just get to know some new people. I don't have time for a real social life nor the funding. So I figure that these sites would be a small solution.
Sadly, it seems they are peppered with people that appear like Chavvs and alike. Some real scary folk..... I know that sound very stereo typical but someone "normal" that can use a keyboard and not type in this new strange SMS language that makes no sense to anyone other then themselves!
I think it's probably worth sticking to the more respectable sites, but even then you have to be careful, and know what you want out of it - ultimately it's giving you a wider range of people to meet than you would otherwise do - the rest is still down to you.
I agree 🙂
Romancecompass - Online Dating I can recommend.
Little Update.
Firstly thanks for all the tips on this thread, I can't believe that this thread is still way up there!
Well, I've met someone, Yeah it was online and she found me.... Very exited for the future as she's great. Had our first date and we are on the telephone most evenings for at least three hours (till the weeee hours!)
I'll show my experiences of the websites and prices I paid below
I signed up to these four:-
1) Match.com --- An offer of £25 per month which was three payments and gave 6 month access. -- I got lots of views on there but not really any contact. I think I needed to be on there longer as I was getting a fair few looks on my profile.
You do get good emails from match telling you when someone has looked. Match offer lots of promotions to get you signed up so keep an eye out. To get removed from their database it is advised you call them on an 020 number as their website is not very clear and it's quite hard to find the part to cancel the automatic renewal. Account changes via their mobile app isnt great but their app is very good for browsing.
2) eHarmony -- £15 x3 for three month access... My opinion its a waste of money. You fill in lots of info and their website matches you up. You cannot browse the ladies. The matches were nothing like me! For some people this is ideal and would work but sadly, I found this to be a waste of money. Good mobile app.
3) Ok Cupid --- Free -- Mix of the both above, not too bad, the phone app much better than website. This site has potential but be warned, its free and therefore (sadly) full of time wasters wanting one nighters. Has half decent search facility. The app does not remember the search preferences. (This could just be me). Given time and commitment this website could be ideal for some people. Definalty worth signing up to
4) Plenty of fish -- Free ---- This website I was dubious about as it had loads of members some from other website and lots of very odd people. Part of it being free I think. That said, because it's free there are always loads of people on there and you can see lots about the person. They have a good mobile app and even their website is good too. For a freebie it's worth signing up there.
My personal opinions are
1) Match is great and probably the best dating website for a paid website
2) P.O.F is great for a free site
Hope this helps a bit in your plight for love people
🙂
is dateline still running? I used that originally. Also used nomorefogs.com - was potentially useless (I was matched with someone in Venezuela despite giving a radius of 25 miles from Bedford) but I did meet my wife through it, so definitely has its plus points 😀
