Didn't know where else to post this.
I was at a bit of a loose end the other Thursday, with my daughter. Couldn't think of anything to do with her. She's 3 and bit. We'd been reading Harry and his Dinosaurs and I remembered the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum. So I asked her if she'd like to see some. She said yes and so off we went. I remembered to tell her that it wasn't a zoo and that they weren't real or wouldn't be moving. π )
I thought we'd be there for twenty minutes; we were there for three and a half hours. In the end, it was me who was knackered and wanted to go home. We had to go and see the dinosaurs twice. Especially the animatronic t-rex at the end - scared her the first time but she wanted more. That's my girl!
And the next week, we went back. Just shy of four hours, this time. It's great that it's free. The week after that, we went to the Science Museum (also free) - on the whole, it's not as good but there's a good toddler/soft-play area in the basement with a water-play-tank-thing that she loved. Last week we tried the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden - not so good because it's a tenner for me to get in (free for her) but we spent a good two hours there - she was disappointed she couldn't get on all of the buses and seemed a bit puzzled by the model horse (for a horse-drawn bus) but she seemed to enjoy it.
We've been recommened the museum of childhood (part of the V&A - think it's in a different part of London, though), next. Think we'll wait until after half-term, though.
Anyone else been anywhere you might think is too old for a toddler?
Here's another dinosaur link: http://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit-us/galleries ... index.html
Talldad we took our boys to see the dino's last spring. best flippin time ever. We spent hours looking around and only did about 1/3 rd of the museum. It took a while to get in as the half term queue was MASSIVE! π―
Anyone done things like Madam T's or the Science Museum?
