Hiya everyone,

I'm a mature PhD student [1st year] at Queen Mary, Uni of London, doing a collaborative project in Geography, with the Geffrye Museum of the Home ... entitled Men juggling home, work and family in contemporary London ... I have a 22 month-old boy and my wife [who is a senior research fellow at LSBU and a children's geographer ... Dr Susie Weller] and I live on a canal narrowboat in West London. We are expecting our second child in April.
I was a househusband in the early 1980s and am now a 'mature' dad of 62 struggling with the 'juggling mentioned above.
I have just completed my first year and will be embarking on fieldwork in the autumn, after getting ethical clearance from my University.
I am particularly interested in seeking the views of fathers who are 'primary' carers of their children, living in London, from a range of occupational and social backgrounds. Primary carers can include men working P/T [or even F/T] from home or engaged in a range of pursuits and work/non-work related activities.
If this has resonance with any of you please do reply ~ the PhD is in collaboration with the Geffrye Museum, the Museum of the Home in east London and there will be opportunities to have your voices heard in an exhibition there upon completion of the research.

Thanks so much ...

Regards,

Rob Stephenson

Cheers,

Rob
