Then Life Study needs both of you to help plan important research about babies and families
We are looking for mums-to-be who are at least 20 weeks pregnant, and their partners, to take part in a pilot research study at University College London Hospital (UCLH).
If this isn’t you but you know someone who would be interested, please pass on this information. If you would like to find out more about how you can help us in planning this important research, please contact our research team on freephone 0800 652 3751 or email lifestudy@natcen.ac.uk.
What are we doing and why?
From October to December 2013 we are doing some important work to plan for Life Study, a new research study that will involve families across the UK, beginning in 2014. The aim of Life Study is to collect information to help us understand how what happens early in life shapes children’s health, development and wellbeing as they grow.
There are many things we would like to understand about how babies grow and develop and what it means for their futures. For example, why are illnesses like asthma, eczema and food allergies so common? How can we make sure our children are really ready for school when the time comes? How do families and communities affect children’s lives?
We will involve families from all different backgrounds, communities and cultures so that we can understand how to give all children the best possible start in life.
Before we start the main part of the study in 2014, we need to try out some of the questions and processes involved so we can get them right. This is where you and your family come in. By working with us to make sure we are fully prepared for the main study, you and your family will be making a real difference in the lives of children and families now and in the future.
